Unlocking the full potential of women in Czech business

Since 2007, McKinsey & Company, through its global Women Matter initiative, has been continuously researching gender diversity as a performance lever for the economy and individual corporations. We took this international research as a starting point for our own study with the largest companies in the Czech Republic, and arrived at future directions to be taken that combine local and international best practices.

Keen to contribute to the Czech Republic’s ongoing development, we chose the topic of education, specifically Czech elementary and secondary schools, as our 2010 pro bono study. In this report, we describe the key factors that have been hampering Czech student performance and suggest what could be done to improve it.
